Book Review:

The Jewelry Selling Answer Book

Author: Dr. David A. Weiman

Available as an e-book via www.marketingjewelry.com/answerbook.htm

I recently acquired this little gem of about 150 pages and it is exactly what it says: ‘Expert answers to the most popular questions jewelry makers have about selling’.  Most of what is contained in this well written document could also be called good common sense, but it is rare that we can find so much of it in one place so readily and that makes for a splendid read.

Dr. Weiman has divided the book into 12 chapters; each one dealing with a series of frequently asked questions in a question and answer format.  Dr. Weiman has also provided active Internet links for those reading the book on their computer. There is some overlapping of information in some of the topics but what is repeated certainly bears repeating.  The topics range from business start-ups and planning to pricing, consignment to Internet selling, creative blocks to motivation.

Some people who feel that they have this all figured out may not benefit from the concise expertise in the book; but even for someone like myself, who has been involved in business for 15 years, I found some extremely valuable nuggets that are certainly worth their weight in literal gold.

Now for those that question if an e-book is worth it, ask yourself this: If you are willing to spend $20.00 to $40.00 on a marketing business book that is not market specific to your area of business, of which at least half the information is unlikely to apply to marketing one of a kind, hand-crafted, artisan jewelry, then why not get a book that is focused only on one of a kind, hand-crafted, artisan jewelry?  If this is how you describe your jewelry, this book is for you.
